Aiken M.S. boys 56
LBC 55 (OT)
The Aiken Middle School boys' basketball team defeated LBC in overtime on Wednesday, 56-55. Mark Moore led Aiken (9-3, 7-1) with 22 points, while Jamil Frazier added 15. LBC's Taylor Wade scored a game-best 27 points. Aiken will return to action on Tuesday at home.
LBC girls 25
Aiken M.S. 18
The Aiken Middle School girls' basketball team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to LBC 25-18. Lakyla Odom scored eight points for Aiken (11-1), which will return to action on Tuesday at home.
South Aiken Baptist boys 74
Jefferson Davis 27
The South Aiken Baptist Christian boys' basketball team defeated Jefferson Davis Academy on Tuesday, 74-27. Leading scorers were Vilai Harrington and Joshua Metzger both with 11 points. Brandon Simmons scored nine points and Jacob Borders added eight points. The Crusaders play next at Glenforest in Columbia on Friday night.
In junior varsity action, both the South Aiken Baptist boys and girls won. The JV girls won 25-6, led by Carly Dempsey's 17 points. The JV boys won their game 41-23, as Isaiah James posted 19 points.
In spite of 12 points from Elizabeth Gochicoa and 10 more from Kaitlyn Lawless, South Aiken Baptist Christian girls lost 39-28.
