Talkback for Jan. 30: Medical benefits, god is real, respect, cherish, Peter and the Wolf
Medical benefits
Does that mean that President Obama, his family, members of Congress and the slew of exemptions will all be included in Obama-care? Or, better yet, that we all will be entitled to the same medical benefits that they have?
God is real
I was in line at McDonald’s to get breakfast for my sister who has cancer. When I pulled up to the window, I was told my breakfast had been paid for by the angel in the dark green van ahead of me. I just want to say God is real.
Respect in their house
To those people who need to move back to their parents’ home, that’s all well and good. Sometimes that has to happen. What part of your parents’ house don’t you understand? It’s your parents’ house; you still have to maintain respect. What part of all that don’t you kids understand? We love you kids, and a lot of time we want you to know you can return home until you get back on your feet.
Cherish every minute
One day you’ll wish you could be around your parents when they’re gone. I lost my mother a while back and I would give anything to see her, talk to her, get advice from her. Cherish every moment you can be with them or you’ll regret it.
Peter & The Wolf
We moved here to Aiken for the cultural activities, and, oh, how we’re pleased. Appreciating Dr. Portnoy and his symphony, we attended “Peter & the Wolf.” The Rev. Dr. Fred Andrea narrated perfectly and to our surprise was the wonderful teacher from East Aiken Elementary School of the Arts (Carrie Power) who delighted the audience with her drawings.
