Talkback for Jan. 27: Relay for Life, Dr. Esselman, Voting IDs

Relay For Life

I see that this year's committees are getting organized for the Relay For Life campaign against cancer. Lord, help us find a cure. But the reason for this note is to ask those volunteers and organizers to pick a different side of town to solicit. Also, design a unified website for all Relay teams so they don't solicit the same companies for donations over and over. Operating a business downtown is tough in this economy, and our businesses are hit on a daily basis from someone in need of help. We love to help - but give us a break.

Doctor does good

My husband had a severe nose bleed on Dec. 22 and I rushed him to the emergency room. He continued to bleed, and Dr. Gregory Esselman was contacted. To my surprise, Dr. Esselman came to the emergency room after a full day of surgery and worked diligently for two hours until the nose bleed was stopped. So, if you want a doctor who is caring, dedicated, competent, compassionate and spiritual, chose Dr. Esselman. Thanks, Dr. Esselman, for your unselfish act.

Voting

I would like for someone to answer just one question for me: If the poor, elderly, disenfranchised, etc., do not have transportation to go to the DMV for a picture ID, how in the world are they going to go to the polls and vote? This is just another subject for the NAACP and ACLU to complain about. Solve the problem and quit griping.
