TalkBack for Jan. 24 Driving, computer upgrades and bills

Gov't work

The "capitalism" reply missed the entire point. Side by side you had a private business, eager to finish construction and begin their business. The workers were there until late at night because they had incentive to get the job done. The next day, a bright, sunny, warm workday, there were absolutely no workers at the government-paid road job. Now, it should be clear that we taxpayers do pay for these government jobs so it's our money that is being spent or wasted and it is our business!

Left lane

Most people drive in the left lane because, when they're in the right lane and try to get into the left lane to turn, idiots won't let them get over. The speed limit is 45. No one in the left lane is going 45. They may be doing close to 60. Slow down or leave earlier. Tailgate me, and I'll put on the breaks. If you hit me, who do you think will be charged?

Upgrade computers

The Aiken County Public Library needs to upgrade their public computers with the latest version of Internet Explorer and Adobe Flash Player. Their computers crash often with the earlier releases of these programs. The 45-minute sessions we get are too short to have to keep reloading pages.

On the table

I want my bill on the table by the time I get through eating. I don't like to linger any longer. If I have to wait, my tip goes down.
