TalkBack for Jan 23: Dr. Brown, renting with pets, meth labs, Tebow, 'AI' nation, robocalls, president's vacation
Thank you, Dr. Brown
To Dr. Cynthia Brown at Aiken Animal Hospital: Thank you for the loving care you showed. We love you.
Back to the U.S.
Day after day I've seen the news about other countries. What about this country? What about our people? I'm sick and tired of being left out of the United States government, like I'm not even here. The United States needs to get out of all foreign countries and take care of their own people. We can't police the whole world.
Pets in rentals
How do you find home rentals that allow pets? Believe it or not, there are pets that are raised to not tear things apart. I have pets that have never destroyed property in any way. It's nearly impossible to find a place to rent that allow pets without overcharging you. Renters may have bad experiences with other tenants, but not all tenants are the same.
Thanks, police
I would like to thank the Aiken County judicial system for cracking down on meth labs with intent to distribute. In Aiken County, they're doing a wonderful job.
Tebowing
I think we need to do a whole lot of Tebowing in this country. It'd make it a whole lot better for us.
'American Idol' nation
It's really sad to see the United States has become an "American Idol" nation. Politicians must perform for their votes during the debates. Even President Obama is singing for votes at the Apollo Theater in Harlem.
Stop calling
Please make it stop. All day yesterday my phone rang off the hook with political advertisements, and it started again this morning at 10:30. It was Mitt Romney. You would think, if he called someone's house, he would have the right name to the right number.
Vacation locations
There is a big difference in a president who spends more than $4 million dollars for a Christmas vacation in Hawaii and someone who returns to their home. I guess you don't pay taxes and therefore it doesn't matter to you.
Wonderful concert
A big thank you to Ben and Elizabeth Cox for sponsoring the wonderful piano concert on Jan. 19 at the Etherredge Center. The soloist, Damira Feldman, gave a spectacular performance. All in attendance were wowed by her mastery of the piano as well as her bubbly personality and enthusiasm for her art. We are privileged to live in a community that supports the arts with performances such as these.
