Dunbars celebrate 50 years together
William and Earlene Dunbar of Aiken, South Carolina recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary (Dec. 24, 1961, to Dec. 24, 2011).
A dinner party was hosted on Dec. 17, in Aiken, S.C., by their children, Wandala Dunbar-Bowers and Leon of Atlanta, Ga.; Deon Dunbar and Phoebe of Aiken, S.C.; Phoebe Dunbar-Holloway and Anthony of Aiken, S.C., along with their grandchildren, Daren and Tiffany Dobey of Atlanta, Ga.; D'Vaughn and Karis Dobey of Atlanta, Ga.; Kaci Dunbar and Jordan Dunbar of Aiken, S.C.; Leron Washington, Chelsea Washington and Jalen Holloway of Aiken, S.C.
Several members of their 1961 wedding party joined in the celebration. The maid of honor, Eloise Williamson-Holloway of New Ellenton, S.C.; bridesmaids Mildred Allen of Jacksonville, Fla., and Ellaree Trowell of Aiken, S.C.; and groomsmen, Roger Moses of Bamberg, S.C., and Clinton Moses of Aiken, S.C.
Together with their brothers and sisters, a host of nieces and nephews, other family members and friends, William and Earlene enjoyed an evening of music, food and a re-enactment of their love story.
