Chen - Hunley
Dr. Yayin Xu and Dr. Maoli Chen of McLean, VA, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ryan Hunley of Aiken, SC, and Ms. Karen Kowalski of Aiken, SC, are pleased to announce the engagement of Shuo Chen of McLean, VA, and Matthew Hunley of Germantown, MD. The wedding is planned for Summer 2013.
Shuo's grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Zijia Xu of Fuzhou, China, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Weiye Chen of Fuzhou, China. She is a 2001 graduate of McLean High and graduated from Virginia Tech with an M.S. in Electrical Engineering. She currently works as a Software Engineer specializing in Speech Recognition applications for aviation safety at MITRE.
Matthew's grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kowalski of Springfield, VA, Mrs. Doris Hunley and the late Mr. Thomas Hunley of Mathews, VA, and Dr. and Mrs. Frank Prior of Aiken, SC. He is a 2001 graduate of Aiken High and recently graduated from Virginia Tech with a Ph. D. in Macromolecular Science and Engineering. He is currently a National Research Council Fellow in the Polymers Division at NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology).
