Mets-Grant wedding
Patricia Catherine Grant of Chicago, Illinois and Joseph Michael Mets of Boston, Massachusetts were married December 18, 2011, in St. Mary Help of Christians. The bride was given in marriage by her father, Dr. Stephen Grant. The Rev. Father Thomas Scirghi, the bride's uncle, officiated.
The bride is a daughter of Dr. Stephen and Barbra Grant of Aiken, SC. She is the granddaughter of Thomas and the late Patricia Scirghi and Edward and Catherine Grant.
The bridegroom is a son of Michael and Mindy Mets of Aiken. He is the grandson of John and Frances Paxton and Lt. Col. (Ret) David and Dorothy Mets.
Valerie Grant, sister of the bride of Washington, DC was a maid of honor. Jennifer Grant, sister of the bride, of Atlanta, GA was also a maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Whitney Coble, Pittsburgh, friend of the bride, Madeline Grant, Aiken, sister of the bride, Elizabeth Grant, Aiken, sister of the bride, Angela Shepherd, Columbia, SC friend of the bride.
Steven Mets, brother of the groom, of Clemson, SC was the best man. Groomsmen were Shaan Gandi, Boston, friend of groom, Jimmy He, Athens, GA, friend of the groom, Peter Nieger, Alexandria, VA, friend of groom, Joshua Niska, Boston, friend of groom, and Andrew Willenborg, Baton Rouge, friend of groom. Olivia Paxton of Atlanta was the flower girl.
Following a reception at Woodside Country Club the couple left for a wedding trip to the North Georgia Mountains.
They will reside in Boston.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of South Aiken High School. She is a graduate of College of Charleston with a degree in Economics. She graduates Northwestern Law School in May 2012 and has accepted a position at Goodwin Procter in Boston doing corporate work.
The bridegroom is a 2006 graduate of South Aiken High School. He is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. He currently attends Harvard Medical School and will graduate in May 2014.
