The Bear facts
Once again, it's Belvedere's time for Jump Rope for Heart. In P.E. (Physical Education)we are jump roping to prevent strokes and disease. We collect money for donations for Jump Rope for Heart.
We are also jumping to get our hearts right. It helps to prevent strokes and other cardiac diseases. In P.E. we go to different paper hearts posted around the gym. The classes read the hearts which have different tips written on them. For different grades you have a goal to do a certain amount of jumps. I don't really know about the other grades, but fifth grade has to do at least 80 jumps. We may jump rope at home, recess, and in P.E. class. We have to have a note by an adult stating that we completed so many jumps. Ms. Duckett, our P.E. teacher, has a Jump Rope for Heart poster and when you reach the goal you sign your name by your grade.
Jump Rope for Heart asks us to collect monetary donations to go to the American Heart Association. We get prizes just to show how much they appreciate us for the money we collect.
This is what Belvedere Elementary School is doing for Jump Rope for Heart. Make sure you jump rope to stay heart healthy and support the American Heart Association.
