Both Fox Creek basketball squads done
The final week of basketball season brought Fox Creek High School's girls' team to the brink - but just short - of qualifying for the playoffs. The squad finished at 8-10 overall and 7-9 in Region 4-A.
For the season, Dominique Moore, was the leading scorer with 13.6 points per game. Second was Kianna Greene at 10.8 per game. Moore was first in rebounding, and Mickey Bell second. Tops in defense was Haley Bryant, averaging four steals per game. She also led in assists.
The squad, coached by Richard Brady, did close the season on a winning note, playing host to Ridge Spring-Monetta. Greene's 17-point game helped boost Fox Creek to a 38-31 win. Moore added 12 points as Fox Creek held the visitors to four points in the fourth quarter to help nail down the "W."
Fox Creek's boys also concluded their season that evening at home, losing to Ridge Spring-Monetta by a 64-57 tally, despite a 28-point performance by D.J. Curry. Also in double digits for the home squad were Quadre Castleberry, with 14 points and Deondre Baskett, with 11. The Predators wound up at 3-19 overall and 2-13 in the region.
