FCHS girls hold onto playoff hopes
Three more games are left in the regular season in basketball, and Fox Creek High School's girls began this week with a slim chance of qualifying for the playoffs. The boys are reportedly out of the playoff picture.
The boy's recent action included a 58-54 loss at home to Wagener-Salley Jan. 24, a 68-66 win at North Jan. 26, an 88-37 loss at home against Denmark-Olar Jan. 27 and an 83-63 loss Jan. 28 to the Augusta Eagles (a team of home-schoolers).
For the girls, the past few days included a 34-19 home win over Wagener-Salley, a Jan. 26 49-30 win at North and a Jan. 27 53-27 loss at home against Denmark-Olar.
Remaining action for boys and girls alike is to be today (Thursday) at Calhoun County, Tuesday at home against Williston-Elko and Feb. 9 at home versus Ridge Spring-Monetta.
