Knightly news for Feb. 16-22

First grade at OLP school loves math. We practiced fractions in January by making dragon tails out of triangles. Each triangle was 1âÑ4 of a square. We had to figure out how to fold and cut two pieces of paper to make eight triangles. In February, we set up a classroom store using empty food boxes and cans to practice two-digit addition and place value. We put price tags on everything in our store. We get to pick two items and pay for the total cost of the two items using dimes and pennies. We write receipts and check our addition. We voted to name our store "Dolphins" because we all like to read books about Dolphins.
