Patriot reflections
It has been a short, but exciting week at Wardlaw Academy. On Tuesday, the high school math team went to Orangeburg to compete in the Math Meet. The school sent two teams of five. Ashley Bryan and Andrew Medlock were the high scorers for their teams.
The Patriot basketball teams have been hard at work in both practices and games. All four teams are playing hard and doing great. Additionally, softball and baseball practices have begun. These teams are preparing for what looks to be a great season.
There are many events coming soon at Wardlaw. The FCA is sponsoring a chicken casserole supper on Thursday, Feb. 16 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Eat-in or take-out a plate of chicken casserole, green beans, roll, dessert and tea. It is $5 a plate. Tickets may be purchased from any FCA member or you may contact the school office.
The 28th annual Patriot Pride Auction and BBQ is set for March 5 in the Wardlaw gym. Dinner is from 6 to 7 p.m. There will be a silent auction and raffles, as well as a live auction that begins at 7 p.m. Admission and barbecue are $10 for half a chicken with all the trimmings.
Last but not least, open house at Wardlaw is March 13. This is an informal drop-in for potential new families to tour our facilities, meet our faculty and staff, visit with other parents and learn more about Wardlaw Academy. Registration for K-4 and K-5 classes will be held during the open house.
