Ladies Night Viewing Party at St. Bart

St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church will host a Ladies Night Viewing Party on Friday, Jan. 27, at 6:30 p.m.

The cost is $5 and includes desserts, coffee and a "Chick Flick" activity. "The Help" will be featured.

Mardi Gras Dinner and Dance at St. Paul

The fourth annual Mardi Gras party on the river is slated this year for Friday, Feb. 17, at 7 p.m. There will be food, with live music and dancing.

The Paul Roberts All Star Band returns to the River Room, located at 605 Reynolds St., Augusta.

The room will be decorated in Mardi Gras glitz and glamour for the occasion. Traditional New Orleans cuisine will be served. All proceeds will aid those in the community who are unable to provide food security for themselves and their families.

Tickets are available from Outreach members, from the church office at (706) 724-2485), online at www.saintpauls.org, and at the door. No host wine and beer will be available. A costume is optional.

Singles luncheon to be held at Grace UMC

Grace United Methodist Church will hold a singles event on Jan. 29.

Any singles who are between 35 and 55 are invited to lunch after the 11 a.m. worship service. For more information, call 613-0297.

Women's conference at Mt. Transfiguration

Mt. Transfiguration Baptist Church will host a women's conference, "Return to the Well in 2012."

Souper Bowl Sunday at Fairview Presbyterian

Fairview Presbyterian Church will host a Souper Bowl Sunday lunch on Feb. 5 at noon in the church fellowship hall. There will once again be a chili cook-off. Chili must be delivered to the fellowship hall before the 11 a.m. service so there will be time to choose a champion.

Got any old glasses to give away?

Fairview Presbyterian Church's medical team is looking for reading glasses and used prescription glasses to distribute to patients attending the clinics they will be holding in Santa Elena and Los Pinos, Honduras.

The items are asked to be dropped off at the church by Feb. 12.

Belvedere First Baptist Church is collecting items for Operation Send Care.

Now through Feb. 12 donations are being accepted for items such as CDs, Bibles (pocket-sized), books, magazines, coffee, tea bags, hard candy, gum, cookies, crackers, beef jerky, popcorn, chap-stick, tissues (pocket-sized), socks and boot insoles.

International Missions Banquet at First Baptist

There will be an International Missions Banquet at First Baptist Church, North Augusta on Feb. 12 at 5:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

'Some Enchanted Evening' coming up

Trinity on Laurens, the Lutheran senior community in downtown Aiken, will host its major fundraising event of the year, Some Enchanted Evening, on Friday, Feb. 24, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Aiken Center for the Arts. There will be food, spirits, music and a silent and live auction. Funds raised support Trinity's endowment, which helps Trinity offer a limited financial grant program to deserving residents.
