OLP to celebrate Catholic Schools Week
Our Lady of Peace School and Church will celebrate Catholic Schools Week from Jan. 29 through Feb. 3.
There are a number of activities planned around the celebration to be held at the school, located at 856 Old Edgefield Road,
The week will kick off on Sunday, Jan. 29, with a pancake breakfast to be held in the cafeteria following the 8:30 a.m. Mass. The appreciation breakfast will take place from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
On Monday, Jan. 30, folks have been invited for a schoolwide Rosary at 10 a.m. for OLP Prayer Day.
Our Lady of Peace School will host an open house on Tuesday, Jan. 31. There will be classroom visitations from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Visitors may join students for a lunch of shepherd's pie. Grades 4K through third will eat from 11:40 a.m. to noon, and fourth through eighth grades will eat from 12:40 to 1 p.m. Those attending breakfast are asked to make a reservation, with payment required by Friday, Jan. 27. The cost is $3.20 for adults.
Wednesday, Feb. 1, the kindergarten classes (4K and 5K) will host teas at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Anyone attending is asked to RSVP at 279-8396, ext. 100.
Thursday, Feb. 2, is National Appreciation Day for Catholic Schools as well as Student Appreciation Day and Out-of-Uniform Day.
Then on Friday, Feb. 3, there will be a School Mass and Semester Awards Ceremony beginning at 8:45 a.m. There will be refreshments in Murphy Hall for parents and volunteers.
Throughout the week prospective parents may learn about Our Lady of Peace's school activities, benefits and curriculum.
