Letters to the editor for Feb. 16-22
SuggestsSen. Santorum is first class candidate
While he may not yet be one of the front-runners in the Republican presidential campaign, U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum is clearly the most classy and professional candidate among the remaining four. Apparently, Sen. Santorum is also the only one of the four remaining Republican candidates who uses discernment and has some common sense. He appears to be the only one who recognizes what the ABC and CNN liberal elite news media and the likes of John King and Wolf Blitzer are attempting and succeeding to accomplish during these televised debates.
This liberal elite news media of ABC and CNN along with President Obama seek Republican "in fighting," friction and division. They would like nothing better than for the two Republican front-runners, Speaker Gingrich and Gov. Romney, to continue slugging it out over derogatory campaign ads, personal wealth, tax returns, open marriages, Bain, Freddie and Fannie, and the list goes on. Between the elite ABC and CNN, Gingrich and Romney, the Obama administration will have little left to clean up.
Speaker Gingrich and Gov. Romney must lose their egos, their selfishness and pride. As Sen. Santorum told "The Wolf in sheep's clothing" during the last Florida debate, Gingrich and Romney should also be telling ABC and CNN to focus on the national issues, get off the personal attacks and issues, and let us tell you what we can do for America. Gingrich and Romney need to take a lesson from Santorum, who has won in Iowa, Missouri, Colorado and Minnesota. Both Gingrich and Romney need to "man-up" and become embolden with the presidential characteristics and qualities that have been displayed by Santorum.
As long as Gingrich and Romney continue attacking and demeaning one another and do not focus on the mission of defeating President Obama in November, they are playing right into the hands of the liberal, elite national news media and the Obama administration. And if they continue down the path being orchestrated by our own national news media, they will lead the eventual Republican presidential nominee to the slaughter in November.
