Robinson-Berendsen wed at Hilton Head

Joy Rebecca Berendsen and John Arthur Robins were united in marriage Saturday, April 5, 2008, in Hilton Head. The Rev. John George officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Steve and Miriam Berendsen of Warrenville. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Carolina Shockley of Warrenville and the late William Shockley and Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Berendsen of Aiken. She is a graduate of Midland Valley High School and Lacey Cosmetology School. She is employed by Sheri's Hair Affair in Aiken.
The groom is the son of Bel and Melinda Robins of North Augusta. He is the grandson of Mrs. Rose Pitts and the late Arthur W. Pitts and of Mr. and Mrs. James Robins III, all of North Augusta. He is a graduate of North Augusta High School and is employed by Pectin Corporation in Beech Island.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bridesmaids were Mary Latta and Sarah Padgett, both of North Augusta and sisters of the bride. Flower girls were Savannah Padgett and Mattie Berendsen, nieces of the bride. Ring bearer was Carter Berendsen, nephew of the bride.
Groomsmen were Bel Robins, father of the groom, and Dick Robins, brother of the groom, both of North Augusta.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in the Magnolia Room of the Holiday Inn, Hilton Head. The newlyweds honeymooned in the eastern Caribbean. The couple now resides in North Augusta.
