Celebrating 100 years

Pauline Ulmer of Elloree, now a resident of Methodist Oaks Retirement Home in Orangeburg, celebrated her 100th birthday on Sat., July 26. She was joined by 21 friends and family for a private celebration at Clarks Restaurant in Santee. Four generations of Ulmers made it to the festivities. Her children, Tom Ulmer of North Augusta and Jacqueline Martin of Havertown, Penn., presented their mother with a photo album filled with pictures both old and new. She also was honored with a poem composed by her daughter and read by her granddaughter, Kathy Matney. The poem commemorated Mrs. Ulmer's life and expressed the joy she has brought to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
