Katie Belcher
Funeral services for Mrs. Katie Belcher, 84, of Stanley Drive, New Ellenton, who entered into rest June 22, 2008, will be conducted Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at the Posey Funeral Chapel. Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Belcher was a native of Aiken County and a former resident of North Augusta, having made New Ellenton her home for the past seven years. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Key, North Augusta, and Ronnie Key, New Ellenton; a daughter, Diana Eytheson, Jackson; a sister, Corine Payton, Windsor; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family was to receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6 to 8.

John N. Boothe
Funeral services for Mr. John N. Boothe, 71, of Lake Santee Drive, North Augusta, who entered into rest June 20, 2008, were conducted Monday afternoon at the First Baptist Church of North Augusta with Dr. Gary C. Redding and the Rev. Ty Lochridge officiating. Interment was in Pineview Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Boothe was a native of Floyd County, Va,, and had lived in North Augusta for the past 28 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and retired from DSM Chemical. Mr. Boothe was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, North Augusta Country Club and was an avid golfer.
Survivors include his wife, Connie B. Boothe; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Charles Thornton, Spartanburg; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey and Kathleen Boothe, Houston, Texas; a granddaughter, Halie Thornton, Spartanburg; a brother, Shirley Frank Boothe, Copper Valley, Va.; three sisters, Nancy DeLaney and Sylvia Bond, both of Alum Ridge, Va., and Nellie Lloyd, Canton, Ohio; special and dear friends, Fred and Marilyn Adams of North Augusta.
Pallbearers were Carl Betzler, Jackie Jackson, Aubrey Reynolds, Carl Reynolds, Thomas Cauthen and Charles Monroe.
The family received friends at the funeral home Sunday afternoon.

David W. Keller Sr.
Funeral services for Mr. David W. Keller Sr., 52, of Hoover Road, Salley, who entered into rest June 21, 2008, were conducted Monday morning at the Posey Funeral Chapel with Dr. G. Daniel McCall officiating. Interment was in Pineview Memorial Park.
Mr. Keller was a native of North Augusta, having made Salley his home for the past 20 years. He worked as the manager of Rite Aid in New Ellenton and was a member of the Sons of Confederate Veterans, River Bridge Camp 842. He attended Berlin Baptist Church. Mr. Keller was the son of the late Leo F. Keller.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Gail Keller, North Augusta; his mother, Catherine "Kitty" Johnson Keller, North Augusta; a brother and his wife, Rick and Betsy Keller, North Augusta.

Henry Edward Hinton
Graveside services for Mr. Henry Edward "Ed" Hinton, 44, of Appling, Ga., who went to be with the Lord in Fresno, Calif., June 16, 2008, were conducted Saturday afternoon at Pineview Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ty Lochridge officiating.
Mr. Hinton was employed by Armstrong Relocation of Atlanta, Ga., and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Margaret Harper Hinton.
Survivors include his father and stepmother, James H. "Jim" and Elsie Hinton, North Augusta; a sister and brother in-law, Ellen H. and Weston D. Harper, Evans; a nephew, Weston D. Harper Jr., Evans; friend, Barbara Jean Andrews, Appling, and his beloved companion, Wags.
The family received friends following the graveside service at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James H. Hinton, #5 Sedgewood Court, North Augusta.

James Newton Smith
Memorial Services for Mr. James Newton Smith, 81, of Trenton, who entered into rest June 19, 2008, were conducted Saturday morning at Mt. Zion Baptist Church the Rev. Robert T. Huffman officiating. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Veterans Honors.
Mr. Smith was a native of Concord, N.C., and a former resident of North Augusta, having made Trenton his home for the past 25 years. He was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he had served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II, a Mason and was a retired salesman with the John Morrell Company.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Ann B. Smith; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Becky Smith, Charlotte, N.C., and David and Reesa Smith, Waynesboro; a daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Wayne Hardin, North Augusta; a sister, Mary Ann Ketner, Charlotte, N.C.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family received friends at the church following the service.

Beatrice McCrery Weeks
Funeral services for Mrs. Beatrice McCrery Weeks, 96, of Fairfield Avenue, North Augusta, who entered into rest June 21, 2008, were to be conducted Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock at the Posey Funeral Chapel with Dr. T. Joseph Lusk and Dr. John M. Younginer Jr. officiating. Interment was to be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Weeks was a native of Greenwood County, having made North Augusta her home for the past 70 years. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, the Matthews Bible Class, the Minnie Padgett Circle and the Sheffield Club. Mrs. Weeks was a school teacher and taught in Bradley, Bath Elementary, North Augusta Elementary and Hammond Hill Elementary. She received the Jesse C. Lynch Memorial American Legion Post #1 Teacher of the Year Award and was the wife of the late Mr. Belton E. Weeks Jr.
She was the daughter of James Harvey McCrery, Jr. and Lillie Hinton McCrery of Bradley. Her paternal grandparents were James Harvey McCrery Sr. and Selma Teresa Rich McCrery of Bradley. Maternal grandparents were JeHugh Jermiah Hinton and Margaret Jane Edwards Hinton of Greenwood. She was preceded in death by her brother David McCrery, High Point, N.C., and her sisters, Theresa McCrery McKenzie, Shirley, Kathleen McCrery Boazman, Greenwood, and Gertrude (Pete) McCrery Hollbrok of Gadsden, Ala.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Belton and Cindy Weeks, North Augusta; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Bob Todd, Fayetteville, Ga.; three grandchildren, Rob Todd, Eric Todd and Meredith Weeks; four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were to be Rob Todd, Eric Todd, Alex Todd, Evan Todd, Kevin Leopard and Charles Weeks.

Betty M. Suber
Graveside services for Mrs. Betty M. Suber,79, of Summerhill Avenue, Aiken, who entered into rest June 23, 2008, will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock in Westover Memorial Park with Chaplain Dexter Lambert officiating.
Mrs. Suber was a native of North Augusta, having made Aiken her home for the past four years. She was a member of Glenn Hills Baptist Church, a charter member and former secretary of Silvercrest Baptist Church and was retired from Tupperware.
Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Walter O. Suber; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Michelle Suber, Augusta, and Jim and Carol Suber, Martinez; a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Ernie Sallas, Greenville; a brother, Junior McGowan, Jackson; a sister, Lydia Rushing, Evans; three grandchildren.

Enon C. Thompson
Funeral services for Mr. Enon C. Thompson, 82, of Azalea Lane, North Augusta, who entered into rest June 17, 2008, were conducted Thursday afternoon at the Fairview Presbyterian Church with Dr. Robert F. Fuller Jr. officiating. Interment was in Westover Memorial Park.
Mr. Thompson was a native of Waynesboro, Ga., and a former resident of Thomson, having made North Augusta his home for the past 58 years. He was a member of Fairview Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and elder, was a member of the Acacia Masonic Lodge 315 AFM and a Shriner. Mr. Thompson was a former president of the North Augusta Yellow Jacket Club, former member of the North Augusta High School Stadium Committee and a retired electrical supply salesman.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Lois Harper Thompson; a son and daughter-in-law, Herman and Carolyn Thompson, North Augusta; a daughter, Elaine Sikes, North Augusta; a sister, Mardrie Toole, North Augusta; four grandchildren, Sallie Thompson, Cary Thompson, Anna McBee and Jason Sikes.
Honorary pallbearers were Martin Thompson, Jimmy Thompson, M.D. Toole III, Dr. Ronald Toole, Donald Toole, Gary Thompson, Lee Thompson and Danny Thompson.
Active pallbearers were Kevin Counsell, Wesley Counsell, Ashley Williams, Bruce Thompson, Glen Thompson and Rodney Thompson.

Hattie Evelyn Wood
Answering God's call, Mrs. Hattie Evelyn Wood, 82, wife of the late William Wood, of Belvedere, entered into rest Saturday, June 21, 2008, at Trinity Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 24, 2008, at Breezy Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Riley officiating. Interment was at Pineview Memorial Park. The body lay in state one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Wood was a charter member of Breezy Hill Baptist Church as well as a member of the Faith Ladies Sunday School Class, Faithful Ambassadors and a past choir member.
Survivors include two sons, Mackie Bryant (Cindy) of Warrenville and Archie Bryant (Sharon) of North Augusta; a son-in-law, Randy McAlister of New Holland; three brothers, Harry Snipes of Johnston, Hastings Snipes and Richard Snipes, both of Aiken; a sister, Shirley Gibson of Silver Springs, Texas; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret McAlister.
The family received friends at the funeral home Monday evening.
