Predators remain undefeated with win over Academic Magnet
Marty Williams Jr. led Fox Creek High School's football program to more new territory Friday evening, as the Predators stepped up to a 2-0 record by thumping Academic Magnet by a 39-6 score.
Williams racked up 201 rushing yards, with three touchdowns in the mix - including scoring runs of 78 and 81 yards. Passing, he connected on 5-of-5 attempts, for 118 yards more.
Barrett Donnelly, the Predators' offensive coordinator, said that the team's performance in North Charleston was the most productive night offensively in school history, including 410 yards of rushing and 118 yards of passing.
"Our running game was pretty vaunted, I would say," Donnelly said. "We had some younger kids step up, and some older kids do what they're supposed to do."
Fox Creek, having earned consecutive wins for the first time in the school's football history, is to be on the road this week, facing a 7:30 p.m. contest against Blackville-Hilda - a game marking the start of Region 4-A play for the Predators.
