N.A. home to Atlanta Breakout paintball team, competitions
Atomic Paintball of North Augusta has been named the new home and practice facility of the Atlanta Breakout Paintball Program, a national, regional and state competition team.
Atlanta Breakout chose the North Augusta facility as its home after searching for a location that would provide superior fields, logistics and a professional staff, said Darryl Mccurry, owner of Atlanta Breakout. "Atomic Paintball facility was superior to any facility we visited, and after several practices all team members and staff unanimously voted to keep Atomic Paintball as our new facility, making commitments to do the commutes that involve team members from locations in South Carolina, Georgia and Alabama," he detailed.
"Ryan and Robert Kirkland of Atomic Paintball have built an incredible facility," said Mccurry, who indicated the facility will benefit hundreds of tournament players who compete in the sport of paintball, in addition to providing recreational opportunities to the military, police, youth groups or anyone interested in playing paintball.
"I was very impressed with the staff of Atomic Paintball. They will take the time to work with the individual who has never played paintball and take care of the needs of the experienced tournament player," said the Atlanta Breakout owner.
Atomic Paintball has also become a host for two of the Carolina Field Owners Association's (CFOA) events. The field hosted CFOA's Xball 4 on July10-11, won by Atlanta Breakout X, and the most recent CFOA's Atomic Fallout on Aug. 7.
Atlanta Breakout has five teams with a total of 40 members and a seven-member coaching staff. The teams compete in three major tournament series, including the national Professional Tournament Paintball League (PSP) and the southeast region's Georgia and Carolina Field Owners Association (CFOA).
The group has also competed in a third Paint Sports Promotions event held in Rock Hill, where the team placed first in Division 4. The Atlanta Breakout is ranked first after the third of four events. The group will travel to Polk City, Fla., in October for PSP's World Cup.
Atlanta Breakout has enjoyed success as a first year program with top national and regional rankings. The program is comprised of many players from top 2009 teams, such as Atomic Aftermath and Waste Management of North Augusta, Hot Shot Kids of McDonough, Ga., Carolina Militia of Charleston and KZK of Birmingham, Ala.
The team coaches have experience coaching teams Fat City Kids of Senoia, Ga., Classic Kids of Lithia Springs, Ga., Hot Shot Kids of McDonough, Ga., Atomic Aftermath of North Augusta, Jokers of Alpharetta, Ga., and Big Daddy's Outlawz of Rome, Ga.
