All-state players on FCHS team

Fox Creek High School's softball program, on the verge of starting the 2010 season, has two all-state players returning. Senior Danielle Payne, listed as a pitcher and first baseman, is back on board, as is sophomore Micki Bell, catcher and shortstop.

Amanda Schneider is returning as coach, the role she has filled since the softball program's creation. Payne's fellow seniors are Meghan Prince (shortstop and catcher), Breanna Thomasson (third baseman) and Kasey Morris (outfielder).

Juniors are Kayla Sizemore (left fielder), Tori Starnes (pitcher and first baseman) and Victoria Gardner (first and second baseman). Bell's fellow sophomores are Carrie Krebs (outfielder), Kristen Anderson (second and third baseman), Ashlyn Wanninger (center fielder) and Sulina Martin (outfielder). Completing the roster are freshmen Amber Burckhalter (outfielder and infielder), Corrie Hall (second baseman) and Summer Payne (outfielder).

Sweetwater Baptist Church will continue to provide the site for Fox Creek's home games, but a softball field is taking shape at Fox Creek, and hopes are for construction to be complete in time for the playoffs, if not sooner. The school is in its first year at a new campus, and athletic facilities will continue taking shape over the next few years.
