NAMS Jackets win, to again play Patriots
North Augusta Middle School has claimed all the athletic bragging rights so far this year in its contests with Paul Knox, and the Patriots will get another shot at redemption Monday evening in a pair of basketball games to be held on their home court.
Monday's action will start at 5:30 p.m., beginning with the girls' game.
The boys will play about an hour later.
The Yellow Jackets' boys squeaked to a 55-46 overtime win in this season's first clash with the Patriots on Jan. 11 at Riverview Park Activities Center. Ja'Shawn Brooks scored 20 points, leading North Augusta, and Antaun Andrews, with Paul Knox, was the game's top scorer, racking up 21.
In the girls' initial match-up, also Jan. 11, North Augusta came on strong in the fourth quarter and won by a 42-30 score, buoyed by Mallory Stone's 23-point game. Keiana Green was Paul Knox's top scorer with nine points.
