'Perfect Disguise' premieres at Imperial
The world premiere of "Perfect Disguise" takes place Saturday, May 23, at the Imperial Theatre in downtown Augusta for one screening only at 7 p.m.
Perfect Disguise is a feature-length motion picture about a young woman who joins the Confederate cavalry disguised as a boy. Nearly half the film was shot in Augusta and Beech Island. Additional locations in South Carolina include Lexington, St. George, Fairfax, Branchville and at the Battle of Anderson, Battle of Central and Battle of Broxton Bridge reenactments.
"Perfect Disguise" is a PG-13 level motion picture. It does contain mild language and some realistic depictions of wartime violence. For more information and photos from the film please visit www.lydiahawke.us (the author's web site).
At 6 pm there will be a reenactor parade leading up to the theatre, similar to what we did for the world premiere of "The Battle of Aiken" and "Firetrail." Those who would like to participate in the parade should email forbesfilm@hotmail.com for more details.
The director, Christopher Forbes, from Augusta, and nearly the entire cast will be on hand for this screening.
Admission is $10. Tickets may be purchased online now for this event at www.imperialtheatre.com.
The author will do a booksigning before and after the movie showing in the lobby of the theater.
