Wilbur and Debbie Holmes of Johnston announce the engagement of their daughter, Rebekah Ellen Holmes, to Anthony Rhoades (Rody) Brown Jr., son of Mr. Anthony R. Brown Sr. of Edgefield and the late Rebecca Brown.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Holmes Sr., the late Harold Clayton and Mrs. Dot Clayton of Johnston. She is a 2006 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School and will receive her bachelor's degree in dental hygiene in May 2010.

The groom-elect is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Blair, the later Mr. Dan Brown and Mrs. Pickens Pulley of North Augusta. He is a 2004 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School. He is currently employed with Raven Home Builders.

The couple will exchange vows June 5, 2010, in a 5 p.m. ceremony at Providence Baptist Church.
