The Bee's buzz
North Augusta, are you ready for the most exciting talent search in town? Well, get ready for the North Augusta Idol. I'll bet that Alice Dyches, Jordan Gambrell, Skilyr Hicks, Tres Taylor, Kendall Toole, Kelsey Vaughn and Carly Wolf are all set to go. What do all of these people have in common? They are all winners from the Hammond Hill auditions that took place two weeks ago.
Mrs. Kight, our school music teacher, orchestrated the entire audition process. She said the purpose of the contest is to "promote the arts and provide scholarships for Area 2 students." Any student in K-12th grade in Area 2 schools can audition at their school. These seven students who were chosen will represent Hammond Hill on Feb. 4 when all of the area elementary schools come together to showcase each schools' winners for the Arts Council.
It is at this competition where the judges will decide who will move up to the next round of competition.
Judges will be looking at a wide variety of talent; from dancing, to singing and even playing musical instruments.
The final round will be on March 24, held at the North Augusta High School. This will be the final stage of the competition in which all age groups will be performing and competing to earn the privilege of being called "the next North Augusta Idol" star.
