Patriot reflections
It has been a fairly quiet week at Wardlaw.
The highly anticipated Basketball Fun Night is this Saturday. It will begin at 4 p.m. in the gym. The lower school students will kick-off the night with a basketball game. Then all alumni, parents, grandparents and teachers are invited to participate in a basketball game. For those who aren't interested in playing, but still want to be a part, there will also be cheerleaders. The lower school cheerleaders will be providing entertainment between the games. This is not limited to those who participated in summer camp. The FCA will be sponsoring a Bake Sale during the event in order to raise money for their trip to Garden City in the spring. Mr. Thurmond Burnett will be cooking his famous chicken stew. This will be for sale by the cup or quart.
The basketball teams are beginning to think about final standings. The region tournament will begin on Feb. 11. This Wednesday all four teams were to face Jefferson Davis. These games will be at home and will begin at 4. On Friday, they will travel to Laurens to face the Crusaders.
Be sure to mark your calendars for Tuesday, Feb. 16. Muffins with Mom will be held in the canteen. This is a great opportunity for mothers, aunts and grandmothers to enjoy breakfast sweets with their favorite Wardlaw student.
