Belvedere Elementary School
n The first grade through fifth grade classes have 90 minutes of uninterrupted reading each day. The following are the times for each grade:
1st grade - 7:45-9:15 a.m.
2nd grade - 9:20-10:50 a.m.
3rd grade - 7:45-9:15 a.m.
4th grade - 8:30-10 a.m.
5A - 7:45-9:15 a.m.
5C - 9:20-10:40 a.m.
5B - 10:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
n The fifth grade is going to the Morris Museum on Friday, Sept. 18.
n Dominos Pizza Night is every Thursday night. When you order on the school's night, 20 percent of the cost will be donated back to our school.
n Savannah River Site Safety Art Contest entry forms are available from Mrs. Hargrove. Pictures must be drawn on an entry form and returned to to Mrs. Hargrove by Sept. 25.
Hammond Hill Elementary School
n The Bumble Bee Writing Award is given each month to students demonstrating outstanding writing. Their work is then displayed on the bulletin board on the second grade hall. The award winners for Augusta are Gavin Hay, Will Livingston, Ashlyn Gambrell, Hannah Adkinson and Kate Hooper.
n Junior Jazzercise will be held on Wednesdays in the Hammond Hill PE Room, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.
Then on the first Wednesday of each month, the class will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will end at 2:30 p.m. The cost is $30 per month. Call Loralee Kokovich at 279-8609 to reserve a spot.
n The school's career speaker day is Friday, Sept. 18. The school is looking for parents, grandparents and community leaders to talk about their careers.
Anyone interested in being a speaker is asked to call the school at 442-6170.
North Augusta Elementary School

* Grandparents' Day Lunch - third through fifth grade
Students' grandparents will be honored at a lunch with their grandchildren on Thursday, Sept. 10 (Grades 4K-2) or Friday, Sept. 11 (Grades 3-5). Grandparents were asked to R.S.V.P. by Friday, Sept. 4. (Grandparents are asked to NOT bring fast food to school for lunch.) The cost of an adult meal is $3.10. Grandparents may pay when they come to eat lunch with their grandchild.

n S.T.A.R. Behavior -- This year, North Augusta Elementary has established schoolwide behavior expectations. These expectations are referred to as S.T.A.R. Behavior.

n Junior Jazzercise classes began on Kids Get Fit Day, Tuesday, Sept. 8. The cost for the continuing exercise program is $25 per month and if you join before Sept. 30, there is no registration fee. Classes will run from September to May and special activities include a performance at the Jack-O-Lantern Jubilee and marching in the Christmas Parade. Awards are given in May to each child who participates.
