Mikayla Jenkins has won the school-level competition of the 22nd annual National Geographic Bee at Belvedere Elementary School. There were three classroom winners from each fifth-grade class. The classroom winners were Caroline Cockrell, Ryan Stogner, Mikayla Jenkins, Tori Vining, Makiya Mims, Madi Spires, Abby Routman, Morgan Powell and Emme Biebesheimer.

Mossy Creek
All fifth grade students at Mossy Creek Elementary participated in the State Superintendent's Writing Program for 2009-2010. The students were given an assigned topic and had to complete the writing process using the English Language Arts Academic Standards. The class winners were: Mrs. Bennett's homeroom - I'Sheona Carter; Mrs. Bland's homeroom - Ryan Walden; Mrs. Rozsynai's homeroom - Makayla Dawkins; and Mrs. Shealy's homeroom - Antonio Phillips.
The school winner for Mossy Creek Elementary was Antonio Phillips. Antonio's essay will now go to the district level for competing against other participating schools.
Hammond Hill El.
School spelling bee winners were Brian Schaade, first place; Carly Wolf, second place; Joe Thomas, alternate. Classroom winners were: first place, Carly Wolf, Noah Wilson, Michael Poore, Joe Thomas and Tre Lawson; second place, Jake Franco, Kiara Allen, Dylan Boyette, Anna Kate Nelson, Sarah Bigger; alternates, Skilyr Hicks, Brian Schaade, Felisha Garcia, Jenna West and Allison Hendrix.

NA Middle School
Mary Owens, a seventh-grader at North Augusta Middle, is a member of the Ga-SC Bulls Soccer Club made the state Olympic Development Program (ODP) Soccer team.

A Valentine Dance will be on Feb. 12. The dance will start at 3:30 until 5 p.m. Students will not be allowed to use the phone during the day of the dance to call parents for permission slips to be signed.
The NAMS Geography Bee winners are: first place, Ben Phifer; second place, Geoffrey Powell; third place, Erin Spivey.
Paul Knox Middle
Parent Portal is up and running so parents can now access their child's current grades and attendance.
