Sunday at Fairview Presbyterian Church everyone was Scottish.
It was the annual Kirkin' o' the Tartan, when Presbyterians celebrate their heritage by presenting the plaid or tartan of the clan (family). At Fairview those wishing to participate wore the emblems of their family and followed bagpiper David Nicholls in a procession that included flags of countries where the roots Presbyterian Church have the strongest hold.
Last Sunday church members presented the Christian flag, the flag of the United States, the Scottish national flag, the Lion Rampant flag, along with the beadle (who carries the Bible in the service) and the swords as well as families in tartans.
