My Heavenly Home Is Bright and Fair
"True success is winding up in heaven." --Bumper sticker.
Read these verses about Heaven. They are most enlightening!
* Matt 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
* Matt 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
* Matt 10:32 "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.
* Mark 16:19 After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.
* Luke 24:51 While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven.
* Phil 3:20 But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body.
From these verses, we see that Heaven is where God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, is now seated at the right hand of God the Father. What did Jesus teach us about life after physical death for those who trust Him as Lord and Savior? We read in John 14:1 Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. 2 In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. 4 You know the way to the place where I am going. 5 Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" 6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
All this is made possible because of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. He conquered death, hell and the grave. None of these can now hold the Christian. How can we know this is true for us? John 11:25 Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. 26 And whoever lives and believes in Me shall never die. Do you believe this?" Romans 3:23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 10:9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." Jesus himself invites us to open the door of our heart to him in Revelation 3:20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me. 21 To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
What on earth are we waiting for? The price has been paid in full on the cross. Eternal life is a gift to be received. The choice is yours. My heavenly home is bright and fair, and no pain or death can enter there. I feel like traveling on. Come and go with me to my Father's house!
