SRR gives $6,000 to Salvation Army, provides volunteers to ring red kettle bells

Savannah River Remediation LLC (SRR) has donated $6,000 to the Salvation Army, which covers three counties - Aiken, Allendale and Barnwell counties in South Carolina. The three will share the donation by receiving $2,000 each.

Jim French, SRR President and Project Manager, said his company admires the good work the Salvation Army does, especially in these hard economic times.

"The Salvation Army does significant work to help those who have a deep need," French said. "Savannah River Remediation wants to reach out to help our communities and our neighbors, and this donation goes a long way toward that end."

In addition to the donation, SRR is providing employees who volunteer to ring the bell at the Red Kettles, seen at numerous locations across the area. The SRR volunteers are ringing bells and collecting money at the Wal-Mart on Whiskey Road in Aiken, the Wal-Mart in Barnwell and the Piggly Wiggly in Allendale.
