Cub Scout Pack 7, sponsored by Grace United Methodist Church, will hold its annual sign-up night Sept. 9 at 6:30 p.m., offering potential Cub Scouts and their families a look at the basics of the youth organization and its focus on "fun with a purpose."

A brief overview will be part of the program, said Reed Miller, one of the pack's leaders. "Essentially, it's an open house for registration. We'll be there to answer questions about the program, but the main purpose of the evening is ... registering for Cub Scouts," he said.

Pack meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The pack's building is on the back side of the church's campus, at 639 Georgia Avenue, a few steps from East Avenue. Details on the Sept. 9 event are available at 278-1473.
