PEP celebrates with scholarship awards

On Aug. 9 Public Education Partners celebrated its 15th birthday. At the celebration Kimberly-Clark Corporation presented a $25,000 endowment to PEP to encourage students to participate in manufacturing-related studies.The first four students, to benefit from this endowment were in attendance. Each student was awarded a dual enrollment scholarship. They are, from left, Tom Comer of Aiken High, Bradford Buncomb of North Augusta High, Samantha Holmes of Midland Valley High and Kevin Plunkett of South Aiken High. Also pictured: Ken Kline, Behind them are Kevin Kline and Bob Cross and Kevin Ward of Kimberly-Clark. Mill manager Cross said public education needs the support of citizens and that, as a corporate citizen, Kimberly Clark hopes to help grow the workforce of the future by encouraging manufacturing related studies.
