Like father, like son
Bill Burriss is definitely following in his father's footsteps. He was at the Memorial Day ceremony at the Wade Hampton Veterans Park on Monday doing what his dad always used to do. He was manning the sound system for the event. Post 71 Cmdr. Bob Ramsey pointed out Burriss came all the way from Saluda to take care of things.
Is it a joke?
Byron King, attorney with the S.C. Realtors Association, told a gathering of North Augusta/Belvedere Board of Realtors that he always likes to start with a joke. "I used to do realtor jokes, but they don't go over too well," he said. So he shared an attorney joke: A woman and her daughter were leaving a cemetery following a graveside service. The little girl said, "This cemetery must be really crowded. They're burying two people in one grave." He mom replied, "What makes you say that." The little girl pointed to a headstone and said, "See, it says 'Here lies an honest man and an attorney.'"
