Recycle electronics Saturday

Small kitchen appliances, fax machines, computers and toner cartridges are among the items to be collected Saturday by North Augusta's municipal government, with the Kroger parking lot, on Knox Avenue, as the host site.

The event, to run from 9 a.m. until noon, is intended to keep electronic items out of the landfill.

A partial list of items to be accepted includes CD and DVD drives, CDs and CD cases, computer monitors, hard drives, floppy drives, zip drives, scanners, printers, adding machines, phones (corded and cordless), VHS tapes, video games and alkaline batteries.

"We've been doing it twice a year," said Sonya Lindley, superintendent of sanitation services and recycling. "We do it generally in March and September."

Details are available at 441-4331 and 441-4245.
