Greenway is IDOL master of ceremonies




Rod Greenway has been named emcee for the sixth North Augusta Idol to be presented March 23 at North Augusta High School auditorium at 7 p.m.

Twenty three performances have been judge d from some 75 who auditioned. Students who live in the North Augusta area were eligible. From all the eligible schools none is represented as well as Fox Creek High.


Greenway has been involved since 1970 in Aiken County schools as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, county bus supervisor. He retired as principal of Belvedere Elementary School last year. Most of his volunteer service has been with students. He has been president of the Yellow Jacket Club and a Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of North Augusta, where he is a deacon.

Greenway is called the "Voice of the Yellow Jackets," serving since 1991 as announcer of the home football games.

He was elected to the Aiken County School Board and served one term.
