Lookaway Hall needs your help Saturday
Lookaway Hall owners Kelly and Diana Combs are again hoping to get a little help with some basic clean-up and repair at the stately North Augusta icon.
Saturday morning, beginning around 9 a.m., volunteers are invited to gather at the mansion in front of Calhoun Park.
They are encouraged to bring gloves, tools, anything that might be useful while doing basic maintenance.
Marine Corps offers drop off for retired U.S. flags
The Marine Corps League has two red U.S. flag repository boxes to collect flags that are in need of being retired. One box is located at the center entrance to the North Augusta Walmart and the other at the North entrance to the Food Lion at Highway 25/1-20.
Census Bureau testing census-taker applicants
The Census Bureau will be testing for census-taker jobs each Wednesday at Fairview Presbyterian Church, at 1101 Carolina Ave. The bureau is recruiting temporary, part-time help for the months ahead, with features including "good pay, flexible hours, paid training, and reimbursement for authorized work-related expenses, such as mileage."

Register for classes at Fox Creek High School
Registration for high school diploma, GED and computer classes will be held at the Fox Creek High School on Tuesday, Jan. 26, from 4 to 7 p.m. Classes are scheduled to begin Feb. 1, at the Fox Creek site.

Sports Hall of Fame banquet is Jan. 30
The fifth annual North Augusta Sports Hall of Fame induction banquet will be Saturday, Jan. 30, in the Wesley Center of Grace United Methodist Church.

Ribbon cutting, open house at Alliance Hospice

Bridgestone/Firestone topic of breakfast
The next A. M. Connection, the monthly breakfast of the Greater North Augusta Chamber of Commerce, will be on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 7:15 a.m. at the North Augusta Community Center.
The sponsor and speaker will be Bridgestone/Firestone.

Barrett is guest speaker at Chamber banquet
The Greater North Augusta Chamber of Commerce will host its annual meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at 6 p.m. in the North Augusta Community Center. Congressman J. Gresham Barrett is the keynote speaker, and the 2009 Citizen of the Year will be announced at the event.

Time to pay fire fees to Belvedere Fire District
The Belvedere Fire District fire fee statements were mailed out Dec. 15. Payments are due by Jan. 31.
Any changes in property assessments and ownership should be reported to the district office at 279-5505, ext 10.
LBC high school reunion
The L.B.C. Classes of 1967, 1968 and 1969 are having a joint high school reunion on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at the Augusta Marriott Hotel & Suites in Augusta.
