Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness seeks new members
- Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness (CNTA) is looking for new members to join the effort to provide factual, objective information on nuclear subjects for the public, teachers, students, public officials and at public hearings in order to improve public knowledge on the real benefits and comparative opportunities of nuclear activities, including nuclear production of electricity, nuclear medicine, food irradiation, nuclear weapons production, and nuclear waste management.
According to CNTA's new executive director, Clinton Wolfe, "The only major replacement energy source on a scale comparable to fossil fuel would be the generation of electrical power in nuclear power plants ... Unfortunately, a lack of understanding about the science and the truth concerning the safety of such systems have contributed to long delays in licensing and permitting and opposition to new startups." Wolfe came out of retirement to make a contribution to the education of taxpayers and decision makers whose support is required to bring about a nuclear renaissance.
Joining CNTA is simple and there are several different levels of membership to choose from. Visit www.c-n-t-a.com or simply call the CNTA office at 649-3456 or toll free at 1-800-299CNTA for more information.
Corporate members include world-class companies such as URS-Washington Division, Fluor-Daniel Government Group, Shaw AREVA MOX Services, LLC, Southern Nuclear Co., Wackenhut Services, Inc., Washington Group International, Washington Safety Management Solutions, Entergy Nuclear, Inc., Parsons, Areva, B&W Technical Services Group and others who recognize the importance of CNTA programs.
