Chaplain's corner -- Visual acuity
Over a century ago, Clara Scott captured the essence of spiritual visual acuity with the now familiar words: "Open my eyes, that I may see glimpses of truth Thou hast for me." Dr. John Bigger graciously taught many of us basic skills about fitting persons with eyeglasses as we prepared to provide spiritual and physical clarity on our mission trips. His excellent instruction enabled us to witness the joy that comes when persons experience clearness of vision. "The light of the body is the eye; if then your eye is true, all your body will be full of light" (Matthew 6:22).
Editor's note:
The Rev. Wade Everett has provided a weekly column, "Good News," in The Star for the last two-and-a-half years. Due to family circumstances, Rev. Everett is no longer able to write the column each week.
We appreciate Rev. Wade's contributions during this time and wish him godspeed.
In place of "Good News," we are moving Dr. Joe Lusk's "Chaplain's corner" to the religion page in The Star each week.
