Bi-Lo charities presents $113,000 in grants

The Bi-Lo organization has presented donations totalling $113,000 to a number of local charities.

Representatives of the grocery store charities division recently gave grants to ACTS (Area Churches Together Serving), Operation Reach Out, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Augusta, Relay for Life Edgefield County, Edgefield County Senior Citizens Council, Safe Kids East Central, John S. Davidson Fine Arts Magnet School, MCG Health, Inc. MCG Health Children's Medical Center, tephen's House Food Pantry/Washington Church of God, The Salvation Army and the Nancy Moore Thurmond Boys & Girls Club.

Each of these charities is being presented with funding because of their ongoing commitment to addressing the needs of children, education and hunger relief in their community, according to Bi-Lo officials.

Grants were possible by the 26th annual BI-LO Charity Classic Golf Tournament, which was held this past June in Greenville.
