Tekeya Rennell Thompson and Telley Savalas Priester of Lithia Springs, Ga., were joined in holy matrimony on Sept. 3, 2011, on the shores of Runaway Bay, Jamaica.

The bride is the daughter of ElJean Garrett of North Augusta and Ralph and Ernestine Garrett of Edgefield. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Walker of Jackson, Miss., and the great-granddaughter of Cora Williams of Flint, Mich. A 1995 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School and an alumna of Clemson University, she is a technical consultant at Central DuPage Hospital in Chicago, Ill.

The groom is the son of Halston and Bobbie Ann Priester of Varnville and the grandson of Florie Thompson. A 1993 graduate of Wade Hampton High School and an alumnus of Virginia State University, he is an electrician at Cleveland Electricity and part-owner of Destiny Electricity in Douglasville, Ga.

On Sept. 24, following their trip to Jamaica, Mr. and Mrs. Priester and their families and friends held a post-wedding celebration at the National Guard Armory in Varnville.
