Grace CDC selling restaurant coupons

The Child Development Center of Grace United Methodist Church is selling restaurant coupon books for $10.

The books include a variety of discount coupons for restaurants around the CSRA.

Our Lady of Peace to hold movie night

Our Lady of Peace Church will host movie night in the OLP Annex at 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4. The movie will be "The King's Speech," starring Colin Furth and Geoffrey Rush. It is the true story about the man who would become King George VI. He is plagued by a dreaded nervous stammer. With the help of an unorthodox speech therapist, the king finds his voice and leads the country into war.

Refreshments are available beginning at 7 p.m., and the movie will start at 7:30 p.m. For more information, call 279-0315.

Our Lady of the Valley helps with Benefit Bank

Our Lady of the Valley in Gloverville operates the Benefit Bank, which helps families get the most out of what they are eligible for in the form of tax credits, public benefits and student financial aid. The Benefit Bank of South Carolina connects low-to moderate-income families to those work supports.

A person does not have to be Catholic to come and get help. TBB is open Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays, volunteers take TBB into a different community center.

Our Lady of the Valley is located at 2443 Augusta Road on Highway 421.

First Baptist to hold parent/child dedication

A parent/child dedication is planned for Sunday, Nov. 6, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, North Augusta.

Holy Trinity offers teaching weekend

The Church of the Holy Trinity (Anglican), North Augusta is offering a teaching weekend Friday night and Saturday, Nov 11-12 titled The Church as a "Grace-filled" Community. Friday fish fry is Nov. 11 at St. Bartholomew's

The men of St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church will hold a fish fry on Friday, Nov. 11, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $6.50 for fried fish, fries, homemade coleslaw, hush puppies and tartar sauce (or chicken finger, if requested). 'Mystery Trip' on tap for FBC kids

A "Mystery Trip" is planned for first through fifth graders at First Baptist Church, North Augusta.

The group will meet in the main parking lot for the daylong adventure, which will be from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 12.

Lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided.

Space is limited to the first 45. Parents are needed as chaperones.

The event is free.

Alzheimer's group meets at St. Bart's

The North Augusta Alzheimer's support group will meet Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. at St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church parish hall.

First Baptist hosting Thanksgiving dinner

First Baptist Church will host a churchwide Thanksgiving Dinner on Sunday, Nov. 20, at 6 p.m. in the Family Life Center.

Tickets go on sale Oct. 23. The cost is $3 for adults, $2 for children under 12.

The deadline to purchase tickets is Nov. 16.

Those attending are asked to bring two large dishes of vegetables, salads or desserts. Turkey and dressing will be provided.

All-women fall festival at HTLC

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will once again host an all-women fall festival.

There will be a brunch on Saturday, Nov. 12, at 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall.

Then on Sunday, Nov. 13, there will be one service at

11 a.m. As in the past, the ladies will be taking care of everything. Pastor Kathleen Panning will be leading the service and giving the sermon.

Fall Festival at HTLC

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will hold a fall festival on Sunday, Nov. 13, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.

There will be hot dogs, a variety of games with apples and pumpkins and a bouncy house.

Shop 'til You Drop with St. Bart's

St. Bartholomew's Episcopal Church is hosting a "Shop 'til You Drop" excursion on Nov. 19.

The group will go to Hilton Head for a pre-Christmas shopping day.

The cost is $20 if paid before Nov. 10 and $28 if paid later than that.

Holy Trinity to present Christmas cantata

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church choir will present its annual Christmas cantata on Sunday, Dec. 11.

The program is entitled "Celebrate His Name! Proclaim His Birth!"

Festival of Christmas set for Dec. 18

The "Festival of Christmas" presented by the choirs and orchestra of First Baptist Church, North Augusta, this year will be entitled "Down from His Glory."

The program is planned for Dec. 18 at 3 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church's Sunday School Christmas program, "Follow the Star," will be Sunday, Dec. 18 at 5 p.m.

Sunday School children, youth and young adults will be presenting "Follow the Star" to the members of the church and community. Following the program, there will be a meal of soup and sandwiches in the Fellowship Hall.

Rehearsals will be on three Sundays from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. - Dec. 4, 11 and 18. A dress rehearsal is set for Saturday, Dec. 17, at 10 a.m. to noon.
