TalkBack for May 8
Switch focus: Ban payday lending
Why can't we citizens of South Carolina follow the lead of our neighbors to the north and west, North Carolina and Georgia, and ban payday lending to protect those of us who are most vulnerable to these vultures in three-piece suits?
Respect lacking for all creatures
Not only are Aikenites insensitive to the point last Friday of abusing innocent crustaceans by racing them for public amusement and then killing and eating them, but on Saturday they trained a horse to run itself to death while being cruelly whipped. Are they going to pass horse burgers around The Alley, as well? You rednecks need to learn to treat all God's creatures, great and small, with more respect.
Parenting skills absent for some
I'm so tired of seeing unruly children. If your children can't be brought into a restaurant without screaming, jumping in their seat and being so demanding that you can hardly speak, then you need to leave them at home. It's inconsiderate of others to have to witness it and says a lot about your parenting skills.
Smokers, break out yard sticks
Restaurants shouldn't add porches. They should keep the smokers more than 200 feet away from the restaurant to accommodate those that don't smoke.
Thanks for help with broken car
Thanks to everyone who helped me with my car that broke down last Friday at the Target/Whiskey Road intersection. The young gentleman and woman who showed concern are greatly appreciated. Thank you, and God bless!
Aiken Elementary deserves honor
Aiken Elementary is a great school. The teachers and principal are excellent, and the car line is well organized and safe.
Snake bite story useful to some
I work in Woodside and take care of children, and I'm glad they published the story about the snake bite. It lets me know to be on the lookout.

Comment Title: Pacers falter
I just saw one of the worst played games in my life. Pacers' four errors matched with as many mental errors, are the result of a team with no leadership on the field. Their heads are down. This is a very talented team that can say, "The worst game of our lives is behind us. Now, let's see the best we can do!" Aikenites, postpone your whining in TalkBack for a weekend and come out to see what these guys have - 7 pm Friday. Team leader(s) show us your best and at least know you gave it your all.
