Evelyn L. Jones

Evelyn L. Jones, 85, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2009, at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A native of Knox, Ind., she later moved to Aiken. Evelyn was a sales lady after her husband, Carl, died and a loving mother and grandmother. She was a Baptist.

Preceding her in death were parents, Frank and Anna Walker; two husbands, Kenneth A. Collins and Carl Jones; three sons, Vernon L. Collins, Frank Jones and Kenneth W. Collins; brothers, Carroll and Russell Walker; sisters, Sandra Walker, Kathryn Robinson and Gail Stalker; a niece, Carol Lewikowski; and a nephew, Donald Fletcher.

Surviving are a daughter of the home, Peggy (Larry) Stuver; a brother, James E. (Anna) Walker; sisters, Anna Belle Walker and Betty Ruth (Dale) Burger; grandchildren, Lea (Bart) Squires, Drid (Susan) Stuver, Dawn Collins, Rebecca (Jeff) Stalbaum, Vernon (Jamie) Collins, Frank (Becky) Jones III, Carl J. (Esther) Jones; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services shall be private. Interment will take place in Oak Park Cemetery, Knox, Ind.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Gainesville Cockatiel Rescue, c/o Jennifer Hugus, P.O. Box 5561, Aiken, SC 29804.
