11-year-old SC boy dies in house fire
FLORENCE -- Authorities say a house fire in South Carolina that killed an 11-year-old boy remains under investigation.
Lamar police Chief Charles Woodle said Monday the cause of the early morning blaze is not yet known. Jamal Pringle died in the fire Saturday.
His mother, Sandra Pringle, told the Morning News of Florence that Jamal's 7-year-old sister, 9-year-old brother and 7-year-old uncle, along with an adult family friend, got out of the burning home. The mother was not home at the time.
Woodle said two men passing by saw the blaze and began rescuing the children. He said the adult got out by removing a window air conditioning unit.
Pringle said wires in her mobile home frequently sparked but the landlord would not repair them.
