Beta Club sponsors Christmas Angel Tree

The Junior and Senior Beta clubs of Wardlaw Academy sponsored a Christmas Angel Tree. The tree contained "angels" with the wishes and needs of children in Edgefield County who might not ordinarily have a merry Christmas. The Wardlaw family once again generously contributed to this worthy cause by purchasing toys, clothes, and hygiene products for all the children. An abundant array of items was donated so that other children could also receive gifts. The members of the Beta Club collected the gifts and took them to the Edgefield Mental Health Department on Dec.16. It was a very gratifying experience for the students because they could see, firsthand, the true meaning of Christmas - giving to others who are in need.

On Wednesday, Dec. 2, the Beta Club had its induction ceremony in the school canteen. Parents and student body were invited to attend. Ten new students were tapped as Junior Beta Club members, and eight students were tapped as Senior Beta Club members. To be eligible for the Beta Club, a student must have a 92 average for all academic subjects and must maintain a 90 average to remain in the Beta club.
