Police seek men who held up store
Deputies are investigating a holdup at a Beech Island convenience store and looking for four men who reportedly held clerks at gunpoint Tuesday evening.
Investigators gave few details about the holdup. At press time, there were no surveillance images released of the men who reportedly robbed the Four Seasons Food and Fuel at the 2400 block of Silver Bluff Road.
The clerks told deputies the men walked into the store about 9:20 p.m. wearing masks and camouflaged jackets.
They reportedly asked for money and grabbed cash from the register drawer.
Sgt. Dave Myers, a spokesperson for the Aiken County Sheriff's Office, said at least one of the men was armed.
Deputies said the men ordered a clerk to open the safe, but she was unable to do so. Two of the men then went into the office to look for cigarettes and tried to "mess with the VCR," the clerk told investigators.
The men were able to get money and then took cigarettes from the counter before leaving, according to officials.
The Aiken Bloodhounds were called to search the area. No vehicle information was reported.
