Buy fair tickets in advance
Buy early and save; the Western Carolina State Fair is coming to town.
Advance tickets to the Western Carolina State Fair are on sale. Discounted tickets are only available until Wednesday, Oct. 21, at 5 p.m. The fair will be in town daily from Oct. 22 through Oct. 31 opening at 5 p.m.
In addition to about 45 rides on the midway, games, vendors, a petting zoo, arts and crafts, a tractor exhibition and tasty treats, RCA recording artist Jake Owen will perform live in concert on opening night, Balsters Magic Show will perform several shows daily, Ball of Steel Freestyle Motorcycle Stunt Show will amaze crowds on Oct. 25, 26 and 27 in the Bridgestone Firestone Arena and the Demolition Derby will return on Oct. 28, 29 and 31. There will also be a community stage featuring local acts.
This year, advance tickets offer discounts and VIP treatment. Mega Passes offer unlimited rides, general admission seating to entertainment and gate admission for $20. Mega Passes are valid any day of the fair for the entire day. General admission tickets are $5 and allow attendees to bypass the lines and enter the fairgrounds through the VIP gate.
Reserved seating for the Jake Owen concert is $15 and includes fair admission. General admission seating is available to the concert with regular fair tickets.
For a special night, VIP tickets to the Jake Owen concert are available on a limited basis. The VIP ticket includes reserved seating under a covered tent next to the stage, food and beverages, as well as general fair admission for $40.
Advance tickets save money and time. These rates are available until Oct. 21. The box office on the fairgrounds will be open on Monday through Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The fair will open at 5 p.m. on weekdays and noon on the weekends, beginning Oct. 22.

Aiken ticket outlets include AllStar Rents, Atlantic Broadband Cable, Boots, Bridles & Britches, Greg's Gas Plus, Reid's, SRP Federal Credit Union, Vista Bank and Walmart.
In Graniteville, tickets are available at Dale's Convenience Store and Greg's Gas Plus.
North Augusta locations include Anything Goes, Greg's Gas Plus, SRP Credit Union and Walmart.
