Man dies in motorcycle wreck
A Wagener man lost his life Wednesday after being involved in a motorcycle wreck, according to Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman.
At around 6 p.m. on March 11, Stephen Douglas Chavious, 43, of Wagener was driving his motorcycle north on Highway 321 in Lexington County when he was hit by a GMC truck at the intersection of Highway 321 and State Pond Road in Gaston.
The driver and passenger of the truck were wearing seat belts and were not injured.
However, Chavious, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to Palmetto Health Richland and later died from his injuries.
The accident remains under investigation by the Lexington County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
